Does it matter if I am not a Plantagenet fan?

Our itineraries focus on Plantagenet sites, but even if you’re not a dedicated fan, you'll still enjoy exploring the many incredible historic sites throughout France and the UK.

How many people will be on my trip?

We pride ourselves on providing the utmost personal attention, so all tours are limited to 18 guests.

How do you handle solo travellers?

Plantagenet Discoveries tours are perfect for solo travellers. You'll join a close-knit group where you can meet and share experiences with like-minded people. Solo travellers are guaranteed their own room and will incur a single supplement charge.

What if I have a disabililty?

Everyone is welcome on Plantagenet Discoveries tours, regardless of ability or disability. However, please consider the suitability of our itineraries. Due to the nature of our tours, many historical sites may involve extensive walking, stairs, and uneven ground.

How fit do I need to be?

To fully enjoy these tours, a mild to medium fitness level is recommended. This will help you take full advantage of all the wondrous places we visit.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance is required to join our tours. We strongly recommend that your insurance covers sickness, cancellation, and loss of luggage.

What documentation do I need?

A passport - if you are not a local resident of the countries on our tours.

Visa: France - this is not required if you are staying less than 90 days.

General Tour Information

What is included as part of my trip?

Are flights included?

Flights are not included as part of the tours and will need to be purchased by the traveller separately.

Are airport transfers included?

Airport transfers are included up to two days before the tour commences and up to two days after the completion of the tour, to and from airports within a close vicinity of Paris or London.

What kind of transport will I be travelling on?

You will be travelling on an air-conditioned coach or bus, the size being dependant upon final group numbers.

What type of accommodation is included?

This is a deluxe tour, so you'll stay in some of the finest accommodations each destination has to offer, often in historic buildings. Guests can choose between double or twin beds where available.

Who will be looking after me on the tour?

You will receive friendly and supportive personal attention from friendly and approachable Australian Tour Managers as well as an accredited and knowledgeable local tour guide.

Do I tip?

There is no tipping requirement in the UK and France, however, if you receive exceptional service along the way then a token of your gratitude is always welcome.

What happens if I have to cancel my trip?

You will find all cancellation information in our full Terms and Conditions.

Will there be plenty of stops to stretch and use the restrooms?

We prioritize comfort in our travel itineraries by including frequent breaks. For long distances, rest stops are always scheduled, and some of our coaches are equipped with onboard restrooms for added convenience.

What should I wear?

COVID-19

Do I need to be vaccinated to travel with Plantagenet Discoveries?

No you do not, however you do need to be symptom-free prior to tour departure.

Do I need to wear a mask?

You will only be required to wear a mask if your Tour Managers deem it necessary. This may depend on location/venue restrictions or individual health.

What if I develop COVID-19 type symptoms whilst on tour?

If you show symptoms of COVID-19 during our tour, you will be provided with a RAT test. If result is negative, you will need to practice social distancing and wear a mask until symptom-free. If result is positive, it will be necessary for you to leave the tour and if required, I will provide some assistance to traveller with making any necessary arrangements (this does not include financial assistance - Travel Insurance is required for this).

What are the Government requirements for the countries we are travelling to?

The requirements for each country are constantly being updated so I strongly recommend you monitor this regularly.
